AWANA Club is teaching the eternal truths of Scripture in a Thursday night program focusing on the Bible, Scripture memorization, and character designed to instill Biblical truth into children to equip them to live successful, Christ-centered lives. The children have the opportunity to earn awards for their AWANA uniform as well as points for the AWANA store by coming prepared for club each night.

AWANA Team ~ Ministry Introduction & Leadership Expectations

AWANA is our Thursday night program for children up through fifth grade. The term AWANA comes from a phrase in 2 Timothy 2:15: “Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed.” We teach the Bible to each child with a particular emphasis on Scripture memorization. Our interest is also in building Christ-like character to equip children for life and ministry. The children have opportunity to earn awards for their AWANA uniform as well as points for the AWANA store by coming prepared for club each night.

The program runs from September to May on Thursday nights, 6:00-7:30pm.

There are several opportunities to serve! If you have a personal relationship with Jesus and love children, this might be a good fit for you.

  • Teacher and Assistants guide a small group of children through their Bible lessons and scripture memory, building personal relationships with each youngster. In addition to having a growing personal relationship with Jesus, each teacher concurs with the MSBC doctrinal statement.
  • Leadership roles provide oversight to such areas as game time and the large group gathering. A game book and curriculum materials are provided. Leaders are active members of MSBC, who are committed and dependable servants.
  • Awana secretary oversees attendance and the tracks the points for children’s awards. Having attention to detail.

Final Words

We strive to develop a habit of Bible reading and memorization with our students that will stay with them throughout their lifetime. We are always looking for those who have the desire to see the next generation live for Christ, we would love to have you join us in this ministry.
