“Awana” stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” which comes from the Awana key verse: “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
Our hope is that our AWANA Club will be a place of learning and excitement that will have a positive influence on your child. The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to train them to serve Him with all their lives.
AWANA Clubs are designed for specific age groups. Children will use an age appropriate handbook to learn Bible verses at home and recite them to their small group leader. AWANA offers several opportunities for your child to grow spiritually through scripture memorization and basic understanding of biblical principles and doctrines.
Each AWANA cluber has the opportunity to earn exciting awards as they progress through the book. These awards will be displayed on their uniform. Parental involvement is key to each child’s success. Each Child works at their own pace and will be guided and helped by their leader. However, working at home with parents and listening to the soundtrack for each book will help children to be successful at completing their book by year’s end.
AWANA also provides an opportunity for children to learn to compete as a team and not just as individuals during game time. They will learn to win and lose with a proper attitude of fair play and sportsmanship.
Additionally, there may be theme nights throughout the club year. These will be listed on the club calendar and additional information will be given as the nights draw nearer. Participation is optional, but points will be given to redeem at the AWANA store for those who participate.
